Achieving ROI with Kform Project Manager PDF Print E-mail
Achieving ROI with Kform PM

Return on investment (ROI) is the comparison of the money earned on an investment to the amount of money invested.  Before making a capital investment companies should examine the return on the investment, considering the tangible (direct) cash flow-generating contributions of a new technology as well as the intangible (indirect) measures such as improved collaboration and organization.  The relevance and importance of each of these factors will greatly vary from company to company, application to application, and implementation to implementation.  An investment utilized by a number of individuals provides a higher rate of return with a quicker payback than an investment used by a few.  The more often an investment is utilized, the larger and quicker the return.  When all these factors are considered together you can get a reasonable result from the ROI.

Evaluating a Capital Investment

Besides the purchase price, other questions may arise when evaluating a capital investment.

How many individual helped by the application?
Repeatability – How often will application be used?
What are the other associated costs and expenses?
What is payback period?
Does it increase efficiency?
What are the business benefits?
What are the intangible benefits?

Implementing New Technology PDF Print E-mail

Implementing New Technology
If new technologies were not created and then adopted, we would still be living in caves using stone implements.  Unfortunately, not all technologies are faultless or achieve longevity.  The Mars Climate Orbiter, launched in 1998, burned up in the Martian atmosphere. A mistake between metric and imperial measurements in the controlling software caused the spacecraft to miss its intended 140–150 km altitude above Mars during orbit insertion, instead entering the Martian atmosphere at about 57 km.  The VHS home videocassette recording format's defeat of the Betamax format is an example, where a proprietary technology was overtaken in the market by a format allowing multiple, competing, licensed manufacturers.

New Release - Kform Project Manager 2007 PDF Print E-mail

Harness the Internet by secure information exchange and collaboration across multiple locations.

Kform Project Manager started as a simple solution written in FoxPro for DOS.  Overtime more features were added and more users began relying on the system.  To accommodate growing business requirements, the program was rewritten in MS Visual Basic with a MS Access database.  More features were added and what had begun as a simple solution became an application critical for the entire organization’s survival.  As an organization’s requirements and infrastructure evolve overtime, the applications they use also need to evolve.  Due to increasing complexities, number of users, security and other issues; application solutions need to scale, migrating to new platforms or be completely rewritten.  Moving forward to the next level of development means the application has been proven of good benefit, worthy to expend the efforts required to continue the next stage.  Kform Project Manager 2007 is a completely new version with several major changes.
